Ali Suraj: An Invaluable Asset And A 'Never Miss' Blessing For NPP Nasara Wing

Come June 2018 the great New Patriotic Party will be at a crossroad in choosing a new crop of party executives to lead it to victory in the quite distant but essential 2020 election. We cannot afford to repeat some mistakes of the past. For the National Nasara Coodinanator of the NPP, we will need to vote for someone whose aspiration is not just to be a National Nasara Coordinator but to lead the continued transformation of the Zongos under the NPP. The fortunes of the NPP in Zongos deserve better and it falls on us to give the NPP in Zongos the new positive direction to and purpose it needs deepen our gains.

We will need to vote for a Nasara chief who will be working tirelessly with his team to accelerate the electoral mileage of NPP and enhance the economic status of the Zongos upon which the future prosperity of Zongos will depend. A Nasara Coordinator who will work to ensure that the Zongos get their fair share of the national cake through the long-term investments needs in education, health, employment, skills and technology and Ali Suraj has got under his #TheZongoAgenda programme. A leadership committed to transformation of Zongos, a leader not limited by his aggrandisement.

It is our responsibility as kingmakers, as it has been the tradition of our party throughout its long and distinguished history, to bring a balance to the scales of social justice. To recognise that, we must invest in a Nasara chief who has the unshakeable vision of rooting the NPP in a better footing in our Muslim communities. The elephant fraternity deserves a Nasara Coordinator who has and will invest heavily in the potentials of our rather downtrodden Zongo communities.

The NPP Nasara wing needs a new direction and new answers from a new persona of Ali Suraj. Ali Suraj by his actions has demonstrated clearly a good understanding of the Zongo communities and the need for a new direction that must be set for the newly strengthened Nasara wing. To meet the challenges of the twenty-first century, and to satisfy party members' aspirations today, our party needs executives who have vision in personal responsibility – working tirelessly with other party structures to exude confidence in the retention of the NPP in 2020. Ali Suraj has at all times shown vision in political responsibility – giving his all to party work both within Ghana and the External Branches. The pre-occupation of Ali Suraj through out his over two decades commitment to the NPP has always been to produce a highly skilled, highly invested, highly innovative and a highly productive Zongos deeply rooted in the NPP.

He has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that he is ever ready to serve the NPP. His vision reflects the mission of the modern Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition: a responsible revolution to create a society of opportunities and dignified life for the people. He brings aspirations and values to the Nasara wing that are not only built to last; but also are as relevant now as they have ever been. The NPP Nasara has a great future within Ali Suraj reach and prying eyes. Ali Suraj will build us a new Nasara the NPP deserves, make the NPP more attractive and marriable material to the Zongos, and let us all as true party faithfuls embrace that future. Ali Suraj led Nasara wing of the NPP will be a true voice of optimism and hope for the NPP in the Zongos. It will be a wing that represents the NPP genuinely in the Ghanaian Zongos. Ali Suraj is eager to rebuild and strengthen the NPP in the Zongos which dividend will be victory in the 2020 Election.

This is an exciting time in the intra-political theatrics of the NPP. We have the opportunity to vote for a Nasara Coordinator, who understands the problems of the Zongos, having been a servant of the Zongos, a pioneer of Nasara Clubs in Germany and New York, a through and through political labourer across the Zongos in the country and above all patriotic son of the NPP, who bleeds when NPP is wounded. He will help to develop a positive, forward looking agenda that will help meet the big challenges our party faces in making inroads in the Zongos, and help make Ghanaian Zongos a partner of the NPP.

When the bell tolls in June, for the NPP to elect its Nasara Coordinator, we should be compelled to vote for someone who would work to create a new, inclusive Nasara wing, entrenching the brand equity of the NPP. So we need to take decisive steps to strengthen the face of our great Party in the Muslim communities. We need to focus on the future, vote for someone who will be able to engage people - young, old, those who are committed to politics and those who have given up on it- in the task of meeting the unattended challenges faced by our party in the Zongos. We need to vote for a Nasara coordinator with unrivaled charisma who will be able to bring into our fold hordes of Zongo residents; Ali Suraj stands tall among all the Nasara Coordinator hopefuls in achieving the above.

Ali Suraj understands and has demonstrated his preparedness to take NPP Nasara wing to the next level, by embarking on Zongo centred policies and fighting current Zongo challenges head on through his Zongo Agenda. Ali Suraj is prepared and ready to embrace both the successes and leadership of the Nasara wing in an open minded, creative and thoughtful way. We should believe with all our heart that Ali Suraj will take Nasara and the Zongos to the Promised Land. Ali Suraj will make this happen. He will usher the Zongos into a new era of progress, prosperity and renewal. He can and he will.
