The former Dean of the St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral at Koforidua, Very Reverend Felix Odei Annancy has been consecrated as the Bishop Coadjutor elect for the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church at Koforidua.

He takes over as the Bishop of the Diocese in March next year after the retirement of the sitting Bishop, Rt Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie, in February next year.

Very Rev. Annancy 55 years, is the second Bishop Coadjutor to be consecrated in the Diocese since it was created in 1980.

Very Rev Annancy was consecrated by the Most Rev. Dr Daniel Yinka Sarfo, Metropolitan Archbishop and Primate of the Church of the Province of West.

Very Rev. Annancy was ordained into the priesthood in 1988 at St. Augustine Anglican Church at Larteh.

Preaching the sermon for the occasion, Rt Rev. Dr. Jacob Kofi Ayeebo, Bishop of the Tamale Diocese, reminded Very Rev Annancy that he was being consecrated as Bishop at a time when there was an upsurge of social vices.

He said some Bishops and priests have abandoned the word of God and only preached the gospel of prosperity to the people.

Bishop Ayeebo urged Very Rev Annancy to stand by the truth and always remember that he was called to preach the word of God to the congregation and stand for the marginalized.

He told him that when he was faced with many difficulties, he should pray to God who had called him and he will respond to him favourably.

Bishop Ayeebo urged the congregation to pray continuously for the Bishop and the family and support him to succeed as the leader.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Eric Kwakye Darfour assured the Bishop Coadjutor of the readiness of government to work with him at his new position.
