Breman Asikuma (C/R) Oct 2, GNA - A 57 year old Ghanaian Biology Professor based in United States of America has been installed Asafohene of Breman under the stool name Nana Ofosu Bekoe III.
Nana Bekoe III, known in private life as Professor Daniel A. Wubah, was also the former Provost, and Senior Advisor to the President of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, USA, succeeded his late Uncle Nana Ofosu Bekoe who passed away some years back.
He was earlier in the day carried in palanquin and paraded through the streets of Breman Asikuma amidst traditional drumming and dancing and finally to the shrine where he took the Oath of Allegiance before the Divisional Chiefs and the Oman.
He later swore to Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, Omanhene of Breman Traditional Area, who later gave him a drink to signify his installation as Asafohene, in accordance with the tradition and custom of the area.
Later in an interview with Ghana News Agency, Nana Ofosu Bekoe explained that, his primary goals would be to assist Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VIII and the Traditional Council as a whole to accomplish the goals of the strategic plan, which will help improve the livelihood of people and develop the human capital of area especially in education and health care service.
