
Sunyani Traditional Council in collaboration with some youth group in the Sunyani municipality has initiated “Keep Sunyani Clean Campaign” the campaign which amid to rid the city of filth and bring back its beautiful scenery which was named “SUN CITY”.
The Association which name is “HAND IN HAND” was initiated by the Queen Mother of Sunyani Traditional Council, Nana Yaa Nyamaa II, is intend to assist the Sunyani Municipal
Assembly to make sure clean environment be a hallmark in Sunyani.
In an interview with Sunyani bases radio Metro 90.5FM; Vice Chairman of the Association Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah, revealed that the association aimed is to let Sunyani top (win) neatness regional capital in Ghana.
“We will provide litter bins with name written on it “Keep Sunyani Clean” in every corner in Sunyani for people to dump used items in it, such as Polythene bags, papers, sachet robbers, and other waste materials but not waste materials made in the various homes” he added.
He urged residents in Sunyani to try as much as possible to put the waste materials into the litterbins instead of dumping them on the streets and again charged residents to make effort to respect the litterbins.
Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah called for the support and cooperation of all the residents to restore Sunyani to its former status as “SUN CITY in Ghana”
He appealed to the residents to avoid littering and contribute their quota to the cleaning of Sunyani to ensure a good hygiene.
