This is what Bishop Duncan William in 2015 said. “In the name of God do I command the Ghana currency to stand still”. Today it is on records that, if a Pastor, a Bishop or Prophet wants to be come famous in the sight of the deprived and innocent people, the only way is to spread false doctrines, teachings and prophesies. The more they proclaim such things, the more their members believe in them and worship them. What was the reaction of the Cedi when it heard this command from Bishop Duncan Williams? Did the Cedi really obeyed him? How can a Pastor command a currency of a nation to stand-still if the economy of that country is not in good shape? This is a pure economic indication and has nothing to do with religion. In which part of the Bible did Jesus taught this? With what powers did Bishop Duncan Williams do that? This is what we call: ”Self aggrandisement”. This is how Pastors can use God’s pulpit to make themselves popular in the sight of the poor and illiterates. Did the Cedi really listened to his command? I wish to know how Bishop Duncan William felt when he realized that the Cedi did not obeyed his unrealistic command.
Bishop Duncan Williams is regarded to be one of the well recognized personalities in Ghana when it comes to Christianity. Does he really need such prophesies to increase his popularity? We should not stop telling them not to use God’s pulpit to mislead the people. Christianity is facing enough denominational problems. We have enough of many false prophets in our system. What do we think could happen to a Pastor, a Bishop or a Prophet, if he/she will once in his/her life-time decides to speak the truth? What stops them from teaching the people how to qualify for Salvation? For what purpose will people want to become “Christians”? The more we allow some Pastors, Bishops and Prophets to continue spewing false doctrines und misinterpreting the Scriptures for their selfish interest, the more they will continue to taint the image of Christianity and get away with it. We should not stop exposing the hypocrisy of some unscrupulous Pastors, Bishops and Prophets until they put an end to this blasphemous habit.
Let’s read what Mark 13:22 says: “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time”. (End of quote)
Today the Pentecostal and the Charismatic Councils in the country are afraid to talk about these issues because they are no exceptions. They know the Truth, but will not talk about it. Who is in control of Churches in Ghana? They are not interested as to whether the image of Christianity will be put into disrepute through their activities or not.
There is therefore the need for the Christian leadership of this country to come out of their doldrums and act to stop people hiding under religious freedom to frolic in unfettered restraint. It does not require a sophisticated mind to predict the outcome whenever a society pretends there are no fences. Common sense alone alerts us to the dangers. There is no society on earth whose members enjoy absolute freedom.
They are being suppressed by these leaders on daily basis. They keep on telling their members that, the Bible says” The truth shall set you free”. They keep on telling the innocent members that, the Truth shall set them free, but the question is; where is the Truth in Bishop Duncan Williams claim? Even though he commanded the Cedi in the Name of God, did the Cedi conceded? Will God be seen as a liar after He has given a revelation to a certain Bishop or a Prophet to prophesy to His people but has failed?
Let us read Jeremiah 23:16 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord”
Fellow Christians, who is the “Enemy” I leave this to your fair Judgement.
God bless you all.
