Biadan (B/A), April 27, GNA - The Brong Ahafo Regional Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Tuesday presented items worth 10 million cedis donated by Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany, United States of America to the Biadan Orphanage, near Berekum in Brong-Ahafo.
The items included used clothing, shoes, bed sheets and reading materials.
Making the presentation the Reverend Herbert Oppong, Chairperson of the Regional Presbytery said the gesture was a national exercise initiated by Pastor James Reinsner and Mr. Lois Wilson, of the US church to assist the needy.
He advised the management of the Orphanage to use the items for the intended purposes.
Mrs. Rosemary York, head of the Orphanage who received the items thanked the donors but appealed to business concerns, philanthropists and other religious bodies to assist the home, which has 40 inmates, to acquire adequate accommodation. 27 April 05
