Universe Aid Foundation an NGO which is based in the Country and The United Kingdom on Tuesday 14th March dewormed and donated some teaching and learning materials to a basic School in Goo-Atanda of the Bongo District in the Upper East Region.
The donation which was made up of over 500 Exercise Books, 350 Pencils, 200 Pens and some First Aid drugs is to assist the deprived school in Goo-Atanda.
The items were presented by Dr. Kofi Adu who is a doctor in Pediatrics in London to the District Education Director to be given to the school and community at large.
Dr. Adu upon presenting the items at a durbar organised by the Community Leaders said, he was touched by the news item by TV3 and quickly organized the foundation to make an impact as they plan for a bigger project that will not only benefit today's kids but also the future.
He added that, although the donation seem to be small, Universe Aid Foundation has realised the Community does not have portable drinking water hence struggles with livestock for water at the only dam in the community.
The District Education Director, Mr. Duncan Nsoh who received the donations on behalf of the Education Unit and the community thanked Dr. Kofi Adu and Universe Aid Foundation for their generous gesture. He further said, the District needs support with regards to education and health to enable them also produce youth who will significantly contribute to the development of the District and country at large.
He concluded by saying, his office is open for philanthropists and organizations who intend to replicate what Universe Aid Foundation has done.
