Kumasi, Sept 09, GNA - The Primate and Archbishop of the Anglican Church of the Internal Province of West Africa, the Most Reverend Dr. Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, has been honored by a United States (US) institution.
The Collegium Augustinianum Graduate School of Philosophy and Theology, has conferred on him the title of honorary Professor of Theology and Anglican Studies.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Rector, Patrick A. Messina, a copy of which was made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi.
It said the decision to recognize him was taken in May, this year.
The Most Rev Yinkah-Sarfo is one of the highest ranking Churchman on the African continent, and in the worldwide Anglican Communion.
He is the Chancellor of the Anglican University College of Technology and holds a doctorate in theology from the North Carolina College of Theology.
He has a Master of Divinity degree from Phillipine Baptist Theological Seminary and Master of Arts degree in Theology and Development Studies from the University of Leeds - United Kingdom (UK).
Aside his long service to the church, Archbishop Yinkah-Sarfo also distinguished himself as an officer in the Ghana Armed Forces, retiring at the rank of Major in 1999.
