Accra, May 9, GNA - The death is reported of Mrs Kate Abbam, founder of the Obaa Sima Magazine, which was dedicated to educating Ghanaian women on their rights.
Mrs Kate Abbam, a journalist and editor, until her death was a key gender advocate.
She had used several platforms, including Non-Governmental Organisations, to champion the cause of women in Ghana and across Africa.
According to a family source, she died peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2016.
Mrs Abbam was born on 24th October, 1934. She was survived by four children including Ama Abbam (Eye Specialist); Efua Abbam (Attorney- General's Department); and Prof Esi Asante (Boston University, U.S.A.).
