It was a joyful moment for the people with disability within the Agona West constituency in the Central Region when the NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Mrs. Cynthia Morrison, held her birthday party with them in Agona Swedru Town Hall on Sunday 24 January 2016.

The event attracted almost about 500 participants from various towns and villages within the constituency including Agona Nyakrom, Nkum, Abodom, Bobikuma, Swedru, Kwaman and other communities in and around Agona West Municipality. Among the dignitaries for the occasion were all Queen-mothers and some opinion leaders within the Agona Traditional Area.

The party, according to Mrs. Morrison was to share her joy and happiness with the most underprivileged people in the society. “I always see the blind, the cripple, the lame, the deaf, people walking with both their hands and legs on the floor, those sitting in wheels and crutches with deep sorrow within me and it my hope and prayer to partner with the Queen Mothers to institute a comprehensive development project and programs that will aim at reducing their life burdens”.

The NPP parliamentary candidate promised the people with her readiness to share with them with the little she has been blessed with. “We cannot neglect these underprivileged people in our communities and still feels good within ourselves; something practicable must be done for them.

There were both past and current NPP party leaders together with PPP, CPP and NDC supporters who jointly expressed their joy and gratefulness for the program and to Mrs. Morrison for her show of love for the People with Disability. On behalf of the participants, the president of Federation of People Living with Disability in Agona West Municipal, Mr. Asante thanked the “Maamme no” (the Mother) as they called her for her care and love for them. “We shall never forget what you have done for us, we are most grateful and pray that God grants all your heart’s desire”, Mr. Asante. The Queen mothers and opinion leaders at the function also showed their appreciations for the program.

Mrs. Cynthia Morrison as part of program donated items including wheelchairs, crutches, walking coaches for the blind, and many others to the participants.
