Rafa Benitez's reign as coach of Real Madrid is over after the Spanish giants gave him the boot on Monday, confirming rumours last week he had been mandated to beat Valencia in order to keep his job.
Madrid of course threw away the lead twice to draw 2-2 at the Mestalla on Sunday night, barely 24 hours later, the former Valencia, Liverpool, Chelsea and Napoli coach is no more at the helm at the Santiago Bernabeu.
