Johannesburg (AFP) - Kenya scored a last-gasp try to defeat Zimbabwe 19-17 near Johannesburg on Sunday and qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games rugby sevens.
The fancied Kenyans trailed at half-time and again late in the second half before securing the place reserved for Africa, apart from regional giants South Africa.
South Africa booked their place at the first Olympic sevens by finishing runners-up to New Zealand in the 2014-2015 World Rugby Sevens Series.
Zimbabwe and losing semi-finalists Morocco and Tunisia get another chance next year to qualify for Rio when they compete in a 16-nation global repechage tournament.
