Assemblyman for Anyaa Nic Electoral area Hon. Joseph Obimpeh has donated one (1) single-phase Honda Generator set to the Anyaa District Police Station to help them see the light during power rationing times, popularly known in the Ghanaian parlance as “Dumsor”.

According to Hon. Joseph Obimpeh, “he was touched by the plight of the inmates and out of pity moved to donate and support the station in times of need.”

"It all happened about two weeks ago when I went there to see the boss over there for some discussion. Upon reaching, I realized the light went off at once leaving the whole place dark. In fact I really felt so bad for the inmates living there knowing it could be me or anyone therefore I told the commander to exercise patience and if God permit I got some money I’ll show appreciation” he said.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Police Station, Officer in charge, Anyaa District of the Police Service, DSP Christian Kpordje thanked Hon. Joseph Opimbeh for the kind gesture.

"We are grateful for the benevolent support given us and we thanked Hon. Obimpeh for it because it’ll be of great benefit to us knowing very well that the power situation we face in this country is not the best. This generator will help us improve the security situation because when we have a light off; we will have the place lit and have our computers working” he hinted.

DSP Christian Kpordje also used the opportunity to call for more support from Corporate Organization and Philanthropic individuals to come to their aid and donate to support them, claiming the station also lacks infrastructure; a fence wall around the station and a structure to accommodate the officers and a photocopier machine to work with.
