Thursday April 30, 2015, Somanya: History has been made in Yilo-klo on Thursday morning when the chiefs and people outdoored a new Paramount Chief (Konor) for the traditional area in a grand coronation ceremony amidst singing of Klama and jubilation.
The beautiful coronation ceremony took place in the presence of a heavy security who have been deployed from the Akuse Police Command to avert any chaos and anarchy that may arise.
The new Konor goes by the stool name NENE OKLEPEME NUER ANOBAAH SASRAKU II.
Out of the six Divisional chiefs of Yilo-Klo, the Eagle Eyes of Kloma Hengme; a Krobo Advocacy and Heritage Association, spotted 5 of them who all sworn their allegiance to this new Konor. These Divisional chiefs are from the Bornya, Plau, Bunase, Nyewer, and Okpe Divisions.
The program was also attended by dignitaries, clergy, opinion leaders, Executives of the Kloma Hengme Association, tourists, and the crème-dela-crème of the Krobo area.
THE COURT INJUNCTION
Few days ago, two rival chieftaincy gates of the Yilo-Krobo Traditional area- the Ologo and Akrobetto royal gates- have secured a court injunction from the Koforidua High Court to restrain the Nuer royal gate from going ahead with the coronation ceremony as planned.
However, the Nuer royal gate defied all odds and outdoored the new Konor in a beautiful ceremony but in a tensed atmosphere.
Nene Oklepeme Nuer Anobaa Sasraku II is known in private life as Romeo Kofi Tetteh. He is a 37 year old Logistics Manager of the Ghana Health Service. He is also the owner of Reo Farms in Somanya. He was enstooled Konor of Yilo-Krobo on the 26th of March 2015.
