Accra July 6, GNA - A twenty-year-old unemployed man has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court for raping his brother's wife. The accused, Promise Gakpetor, pleaded not guilty, and would re-appear on July 15.
Chief Inspector E.T. Boison told the Court that Promise, a younger brother of the victim's husband Ben Atror, a Cabbie, lives with the couple in a single room at Chorkor.
On June 28, the victim, 26 and a trader attended a party and returned home late and drunk, at which time her husband had not returned home. At about midnight, Promise took advantage of the absence of the victim's husband and had sex with her without her consent.
While in the act, Atror returned home and caught them in the act. The victim later reported the case to Chorkor Police but was later referred to the Women and Juvenile Unit of the Police.
