A national vice chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Said Sinare says the negative propaganda being bandied around by elements of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) against the ruling party and the president, would yield zero results.
He said the John Mahama-led administration is doing a lot to deliver the promises he made to Ghanaians during the 2012 presidential and parliamentary election campaigns.
The Ambassador to Saudi Arabia told Accra-based Radio Gold that the 2016 elections would be fought on issues and not on accusations and counter accusations.
He doubted if the opposition NPP did anything substantial in transforming the lives of the people in its eight-year rule under J.A Kufuor, explaining “the NDC has a track record in keeping faith with the people that the opposition could not match any day any time”.
“I am not saying 2016 is going to be a push over but we are doing all we can to boost the confidence the good people of Ghana have in the NDC. We would win Insha Allah but it would come through hard work which means we must all come together to make a comprehensive victory a reality and not a mere talk.”
He called on the NDC family to keep their faith in the government and not lose hope because, things would work out for the good of the party before 2016.
Alhaji Sinare is also a former Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso-central constituency in Accra as well as Ghana's immediate-past Ambassador to Egypt.
