We, the members of NPP Switzerland, a Switzerland-based support group for NPP, founded as one of the overseas support groups for the New Patriotic Party, wish to acknowledge the peaceful and well-orchestrated flagbearership elections for the New Patriotic Party which took place on Saturday, February 18, 2014 at the its National Delegates Congress.
We also acknowledge that it takes great coordination of efforts to realize a smooth election process, devoid of chicanery and foul-play to successfully conduct Nation-wide congress covering 275 constituencies, in which over 140,000 delegates cast their votes. From our perspective, this is a mark of a unified party, honest and capable of truly free and fair elections.
NPP Switzerland congratulates all the flagbearership candidates, Mr. Alan Kyerematen, Hon. Francis Addai-Nimoh, and Nana Akuffo Addo, first on their devotion to the party and employing fair strategies for campaigning, devoid of malice, vilification, and vituperation as we have witnessed in some other political parties over the years. We congratulate them on their exhibition of decorum, as true leaders, throughout the entire campaigning process, on the Election Day and for maintaining their brotherly bond after the elections.
We say “Ayekoo” to Nana Akuffo Addo for his overwhelming victory – winning 94.35% of the valid votes. We say Nana, you are truly the people's choice. We believe Nana Akuffo Addo did not carry the mantle with such a graceful victory by chance, but it represents the culmination of his total devotion, humbleness, respect for all, genuine concern for party and national issues, and capabilities, not withstanding that the other candidates are also as competent.
Congratulations to Nana Akuffo Addo and we, at NPP Switzerland, with our unwavering social and fiscal support for the New Patriotic Party, strongly believe, and fervently pray that this elegant victory will be repeated in the 2016 national elections against the other political parties. Kukrudu Kukrudu. Long Live NPP!
Signed...
