Czech Republic giants Slavia Prague has signed Liberty Professionals offensive midfielder Joseph Mensah on a six-month loan deal the club's official website reports.
The 19-year-old had a successful trial with the Czech side and sealed the deal on Monday with a possible three-year permanent deal if he proves worthwhile.
“This is a young and talented player from Ghana who will help Slavia. He has a potential to adapt and succeed here,” Viktor Kolar, the agent who finalised the deal stated. “He has the same potential of his compatriot Isaac Sackey at Liberec.”
The midfielder joined the Ghana top flight side two seasons ago from Kasoa-based lower division side Cheetah FC where he scored a goal in 12 league matches and picked up six man-of-the-man awards.
In October last year, Mensah had a two-week trial with German Bundesliga II side Greuther Furth.
