GIMPA Calls On Alumni To Come Back Home

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has finally thrown an open invitation to all of her alumni to return to the institute on 29th November, 2013 for a historic gathering, dubbed “GIMPA ALUMNI HOMECOMING BALL”, under the theme 'Networking for Excellence'.

Among the sons and daughters that GIMPA is beckoning to return to the Greenhill campus include the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Mr. Roland Agambire of Rlg, Mr. Daniel Markoley of McDan Group of companies, Mrs. Gifty Afenyi Dadzie of Aglow Ghana, Bishop Charles Agyin Asare of Perez Chapel and Bishop James Saah of Action Chapel.

Other high profile personalities that GIMPA has produced and is inviting to the 29th November program includes, Mrs. Samira Bawumia, Rev. Mrs. Rita Korankye Ankrah, Mrs. Mona Isshacku, Mrs. Sonya Sadhwani, Alhaji Ahmed Bandoh, Police Commissioners John Kudalor and David Asante Appeatu, Bishop Clive Mould of Action Chapel, Mr. Martin Brobbey of Yazz Products, Abeiku Santana, Kwame Sefa Kai, Cecil Nii Obodai Wentum and Kweku Sekye Addo

In the evening of that Friday, GIMPA is to be invaded by the Alumni who are scheduled to have an impactful lecture at the GIMPA Executive Conference Center (GECC) and a memorable buffet with authentic Ghanaian Highlife Live Band music, inside the GIMPA Club House.

Addressing the students' body on Monday, the President of the GIMPA Students Representative Council (SRC), Mr. Benjamin Essuman announced that the program is a partnership between the GIMPA Corporate Affairs Directorate, the Alumni Council and the SRC. He emphasized on the importance of instituting the GIMPA Alumni Homecoming as an annual event on the calendar of the school. President Essuman further encouraged students of GIMPA to prepare to give the alumni a rousing and warm welcome back to campus.

“This is the first of the 'GIMPA CONNECTION' we have been talking about. We need to meet and network for more business opportunities and open doors. It is an opportunity to have one on one with that GIMPA colleague of yours whose contact you so desire. We need to share our business interests and grow our opportunities”, President Essuman said.

The Alumni Homecoming Ball is designed to help GIMPA pull together the strength of its alumni towards advancing the business opportunities and becoming change leaders in corporate Ghana.

Speaking at the same function, the Vice President of the SRC, Mr. Henry Tuffuor, who chairs the Organising Committee explained that GIMPA needs to tap into the rich resource base of its products and hence the organization of such a prestigious evening program, in the hope of attracting the alumni back to campus. With confidence he said: “Our sponsors are coming in as expected, because they know it is going to be “A NIGHT TO REMEMBER”. GIMPA will once again show excellence in how to make alumni feel relevant in their alma mater.”

The Students of GIMPA plan to excite the past students with mind-blowing surprises including a computerized display of a planned Ultra Modern SRC Complex with offices for the Alumni Council.

At the first meeting of the day, H. E. Mrs. Lordina Mahama is expected to be the Guest of Honor for a Lecture which will commence at 5:00 pm. The Ball will then kick off at exactly 7:00 pm at the former Rector's Residence (GIMPA Club House).

Significant among the occasion is the wearing of 'All WHITE' by the entire students' populace to signify over five decades of excellent role GIMPA has played in the development and advancement of mother Ghana and Africa.

Meanwhile, preparation is far advanced to ensure a successful programme which will kick start an annual event. In this regard, the SRC has mounted a publicity campaign to reach all Alumni, calling on them to come in their numbers, to once again walk through the corridors of GIMPA and witness the reforms underway.
