Brother of embattled former deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah, claims some “agents” in the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) are behind the leaked tape which led to her sister's dismissal.

“Ghanaians must see something beyond what is happening; it is a reflection of a deeper crisis”, Laud Hammah stressed.

Victoria Hammah was relieved of her post after she was allegedly heard on a secret tape saying she will only quit politics after making one million dollars.

In that same leaked tape, she also revealed sensitive issues of government, which had sparked controversy in the country. The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other civil society groups are calling for investigation into the issue.

Even though the former deputy Communications Minister is yet to confirmed or denied the voice on the tape, her driver has been arrested for illegally recording her private conversation and subsequently granted bail.

But her brother, Laud Hammah, is pointing accusing fingers at people he described as “agents” within the governing party.

On Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Friday, he said some egoistic and power hungry people in the NDC, who see Victoria as a threat, set her up.

Laud Hammah further disclosed that the 'enemies within' promised the driver, who is a cousin, a trip to the United States and a car if he successfully executes the plan.

“I strongly suspect that agents within NDC are behind this. It was a purposeful act designed to destroy us. What has happened to VIC is more of an NDC power struggle but I won't mention names”, he stated.

Commenting on the dismissal of his sister, Laud Hammah said the family is overwhelmed by the swift intervention by government.

“Victoria is a victim of the indecent power struggle in the NDC of which the president is a victim”, he stressed.

Conceding that the voice of secret tape is that of Victoria, he said sections of the recording had been doctored.

This, notwithstanding, Laud Hammah said “Victoria will still be in politics; it is not about being a minister but her contribution to social transformation.
