Victoria Hammah's driver bailed without charge

Lawrence Quayeson, the driver of dismissed deputy Minister of Communications, Victoria Hammah, has been released by the police after spending nearly 24 hours in cell.

The-34-year-old driver was picked up by a police patrol team yesterday evening and detained at the Mile 7 Police Station, Achimota in Accra.

The Greater Accra Police PRO, DSP Freeman Tettey told Joy News that Quayeson was picked up following an official complaint lodged by the immediate past deputy minister for secretly recording her conversation.

The secret recording was leaked and the subseqquent relieve from her post by the president.

Joy News' Kwakye Afreh Nuamah, who was at the police station when he was released about 5pm said the driver looked disillusioned after he was bailed by his father.

The station commander of the Mile 7 District Police Station, DSP Peter Yembilla told Joy News that Lawrence Quayeson was released without any specific charge preferred against him.

Quayeson has told Joy News that he stays with Ms. Victoria Hammah and was going straight to the former deputy minister's house to park his belongings and leave the house.
