Embassy of Japan gives Adamsu R/C school classroom block

ASix-unit classroom block constructed for the Adamsu Roman Catholic (R/C) Primary School, with funds from the Embassy of Japan in Ghana, in collaboration with the Jaman South District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region, at a cost of GH¢150,000 has been inuaguration.

Attached to the school block is an office for the head teacher, a staff common room, and a library.  A set of furniture was also donated. The project was made possible through the initiative of Mr Adu Koranteng, a native of Adamsu, who contacted the Japanese Embassy for the assistance.

Inaugurating the project,  Mr Julius Atta Bediako, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jaman South, said  education was the key to the development of every society and therefore urged parents to provide their children with the necessary basic needs to sustain their interest in school and also to complement the efforts of the government.

He advised teachers, communities and the schoolchildren to uphold a high sense of maintenance culture and further charged the people in the area to rekindle their communal labour spirit to initiate more development projects to improve  their livelihoods.

The DCE on behalf of the people of the district, as well as the people of Adamsu, expressed his gratitude to Mr Koranteng, who contacted the Japan Embassy for the project, saying that "we appreciate a good work done for the district, your name will ever be remembered. I wish you well and keep it up".

The District Director of Education, Mr Kingsley Abrokwa, advised the children to take their studies seriously and assured them that the school would be provided with a computer to enhance teaching and learning.

The Krontihene of Adamsu, Nana Adu Bene Ababbio, who chaired the function,  urged the people to take good care of the building and lauded Mr Adu Koranteng, the Japanese Embassy, the DCE and the district assembly for their support.
