TV3 Soaring Higher On Digital Wings

TV3 Network, the super vibrant TV station in Ghana today, is the first to migrate unto digital system of broadcasting from the analogue system, which had been used over the years.

The station seems to break another record by being the first in news and best in entertainment, has done it again by being the first TV station in Ghana to hook unto digital broadcasting, a directive from the National Communication Authority (NCA) to be observed by all TV stations operating in the country by 2014.

Speaking at the official launch of the digital equipment at their premises on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of TV3, Dr. Ofosu Asare, revealed that it was a great milestone attained by the station, having migrated unto a digital system of broadcasting before 2014, the deadline given to all TV stations in the country.

According to him, the station has put measures in place and met all the requirements of migrating unto digital broadcasting.

He explained that such preparations included the refurbishment of three its studio A, B and C, expanded the master control room, and replacing all the analogue equipment with digital ones to usher the station into its new world of digital operations.

Dr. Asare stated that TV3 was the leading TV station in the country with over 12 million viewer population, and therefore it is pressing hard to maintain its status as the best TV station in Ghana.

This, he said, was part of the reason they had to move unto digital broadcasting before other TV stations do same.

Board Chairman of TV3, His Royal Majesty Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I, reiterated that TV3 has always been ahead since it was instituted 15 years ago.

According to Nene Drolor, launching the digital equipment and migrating unto digital broadcasting is a great milestone which also means greater challenges ahead of the station.

“We are ready and prepared to face those challenges. We are not going to relent on our efforts to give the best to our viewers because better is not good enough,” the Board Chairman stated.

He called on all Ghanaians to make TV3 their number 1 choice and to trust the TV station to bring them the best in everything including sports, news, entertainment and many more.

“We are making giant strides to move media in Ghana forward,” Nene Drolor maintained.
