Angry NDC Veranda Boys Versus The President

Angry NDC Veranda Boys Versus The President
18.01.2013 LISTEN

“The Righteous Are As Bold As A Lion”

Violence, lawlessness and youth on reckless rampage characterized the early days of the 2009 – 2012 NDC administration and later on insults and vitriolic attacks on political opponents.

Lawless NDC youth seized toilets (KVIP), former ministers' cars were being seized without any recourse. Former President Kuffour was driven out from his properly allocated office in the name of national security. All these were happening mainly due to weak leadership.

Fast forward to January, 2013; the NDC veranda boys are at it again, they are behaving in a manner that warrants arrest, but can any police officer dare lay a hand on any of them.

The veranda boys have damaged properties unlawfully in demand that someone (Haruna Iddrisu) from their region be appointed a minister.

Their demand is not on the grounds that their prefer person is the best qualified for the job, but because the person in question, Haruna Iddrisu, comes from their region.

They have threatened to cause more destruction if their request is not granted. Watch, they will get their wish, why? Weak leadership, the answer is that simple.

As a nation, Ghana is where she is mainly due to weak and poor leadership. Just this week, some chiefs from the Western region threatened the president to appoint one of their own, someone from Western region as minister in charge of the oil and gas resources in their region and what happen? You guessed it right.

Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah from the Western region has been nominated as the minister for Energy and Petroleum.

A couple of weeks ago the general secretary of NDC, General Mosquito was reported to have stormed the castle apparently to caution the President and to express his dissatisfaction regarding the President's appointments. Apparently, the general was pissed.

The next four years will be interesting if the NPP does not win their legal challenge against the EC to nullify the declaration of President Mahama as the winner of the 2012 elections. The strength of any building is determined by its foundation, the early signs of Mr. Mahama' Presidency is not looking good.

It is still early; but, having been a president for a while now and coming of as the vice president (almost 4 years), the President ought to show some spine. Assuming the NPP's legal challenge fails, Ghana needs the President to stand up for what is right and against unscrupulous demands be it from inside or outside. Be bold as a Lion.
