
Kumasi, Nov 5, GNA - Mr Eric Assuman has been elected the National Chairman of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Staff Union.
This was at the Union's quadrennial delegates' conference held in Kumasi.
Other elected officers included Mr Elvis Mahama, first Vice Chairman, Ms. Pearl Addo, Second Vice-Chairman, Mr Justice Awitor, Secretary, Mr Sulemana Bayensu, Assistant Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Anderson, First Trustee, and Mr Paul Oppong, Second Trustee.
They would serve for a term of four years.
Inducting them into office, Mr Richard Amparbeng, General Secretary of the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU), urged them to work with the sense of purpose and accountability, dedication to duty and respect for democracy.
He said he was happy with the significant role the NCCE was playing in the nation's political development, despite being under resourced.
He called on the new executive members to do more to make the Union strong and vibrant.
Mr Assuman pledged they would not disappoint their colleague workers.
