
Assin Beraku (C/R), Oct 11, GNA - An educationist, Mr Samuel Ambre was on Wednesday elected the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the newly created Assin North constituency.
Mr Ambre, 40, obtained 96 votes to beat Mr Gabriel M. Mackevu, herbalist, who had 85 votes and Madam Augustina Adwea Owusu, an educationist, had 81votes.
It was supervised by Executives from the National and Central Regional offices of the Party, led by Mr Ekow Ayanful, Regional Secretary of the party.
Mr Ambre thanked the delegates for voting him as the candidate and promised to collaborate with all and sundry especially the other contestants to work vigorously to win the parliamentary seat.
Mr Ayanful urged the delegates and members of the party to bury their differences and work towards the general election on December 7.
Mr Solomon Nkansah, Deputy National Propaganda Secretary of the party, urged the executives and supporters of the party to intensify their campaign by propagating the numerous developments it has executed during its three and half years in office.
