PRECIOUS SEED Chapel International in Tema has ordained 21 minsters with a call on Ghanaians to learn to tolerate divergent views to promote the country's democratic credentials.
Rev. Dr. Colleen Opoku-Amuaben, President of the Seed Institute of Theology in Tema and the church's General Overseer made the appeal during this year ordination and graduation ceremony.
She urged the citizenry to reject hate speech from politicians in a bid to sustain the peaceful atmosphere currently being enjoyed in the country.
Speaking on the occasion themed 'When Preparation Meets Opportunity,' Rev. Dr. Opoku-Amuaben urged the citizenry to prepare ahead of time so they will not fumble when greeted with opportunities.
She urged the newly ordained ministers and graduates to reaffirm their commitment to the service of God and to endeavour to use all the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the sake of humanity to achieve the purpose of their call.
She prayed for God's guidance and protection for the newly ordained minsters to discharge their ministerial duties effectively and reminded the new pastors to serve as messengers and watchmen in the Lord's vineyard by teaching and serving His family.
Preaching the sermon, Rev. Dr. Kofi Oduro, General Overseer of Alabaster House Chapel in Accra described the pulpit nowadays as fallen treasure noting it was important to sanctify the pulpit through integrity and purity before the anger of God befell us.
'If there are genuine ministers, our pulpit must not be suffering like that because there are many people parading as men of God who should be transforming the spiritual and moral lives of our people for the betterment of the country,' he noted.
He advised the new pastors not to use their 'stomachs' to build the church but allow the principles of God to guide them in their endeavours.
The ordained ministers took a six month course in anthropology, biblical doctrine, homiletics, leadership Christian ethics, Christian counselling, and the life and teaching of Christ among others at the Seed Institute of Theology before being awarded with a Diploma in Theology.
Twenty-two pastors graduated from the Seed Institute of Theology in Tema while 21 minsters from the Precious Seeds Chapel International and the Men and Women of Passion of Christ were ordained.
