GHANA PROPERTY AWARDS MARKS 5TH ANNIVERSARY WITH PROPERTY BONANZA

Ghana Property Awards, the premier awards scheme instituted to award the nation's distinguished real estate developers is set to celebrate its 5th year anniversary this year. Started in 0ctober 2007, the awards has grown to become the biggest industry awards scheme and the measuring rod for the success of practitioners and stakeholders in the real estate industry.

To commemorate this remarkable milestone, the Ghana Real Estate Development Association [GREDA] and Property Express Limited, organizers of the GREDA, Ghana Property Awards have announced a series of innovations and changes to this year's edition aimed at increasing innovation and enhancing the influence of the awards on the real estate market in the country.

In order to reward Ghanaians for their continued support and patronage over the years, organizers have introduced a raffle scheme dubbed the Property Bonanza which will give the general public the opportunity to win a house worth over $ 29,000 presented by Lakeside Estate. From May through to October the general public will be able to participate in the Property Bonanza by texting to a short code. In the end a lucky person will walk away with the property at stake after a raffle draw at the grand awards ceremony in October.

Another innovation for this year is the 2-day ON-SITE PROPERTY/HOME VIEWING & CONFERENCE 2012 set to precede the awards. In previous editions, the general public have been offered the opportunity to view developers' properties through an exhibition, however this year, organizers are offering the general public and those from the Diaspora the opportunity to visit developers' site in style to get a first hand view of the properties. The second day will feature a conference where individuals will be educated on Buy –To let, finance, how to get onto the property ladder and many more pertinent topics.

Set under the theme, “Sustaining Infrastructural Development for the 21st Century Urban take off”, this year's awards will focus on Infrastructure, with emphasis on Original ideas that have been implemented in the property development, incorporating areas related to better and more affordable transportation, reduced emissions and pollution, provision of infrastructure such as water, roads, and phone service and projects that have generally improved the living conditions of urban environments.

The awards scheme will also be looking at New Market Development with the aim to support the promotion of wholesale and retail market operations, allowing for better recognition of their vital role, support and contribution to the National, Regional and Global Demand for property and its related services in Ghana.

Awards will be given for categories in the Building and Construction Industry with consideration to education, energy, healthcare and infrastructure. An overall award will also be presented to the best overall entry. Deadline for submission of entries is July 31ST. This year's Entry is FREE. Some outstanding developers and contractors will walk into the Property Hall of Fame, which will be the Hallmark in the Ghanaian Property and Construction Industry.

As has been the tradition over the last 5 years, all awards will be presented at the grand awards dinner night at the State House on the 27th of Ocotober, 2012.
