Mr. Joseph Kumah, a 29 year old business entrepreneur has advised the people of Sene in the Brong-Ahafo region not to allow partisan politics to create divisions amongst them, and to unite so that they could collectively initiate self-help projects to attract support from foreign donors and non-governmental organizations.
The business entrepreneur gave this advice at the weekend when he declared his intention to contest the newly created Sene East constituency Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Sene East constituency is among the four newly created districts in the Brong-Ahafo region, which was carved out of the Sene District, and Kajaji has been cited to be the district capital after the inauguration of all the newly created districts in March this year.
Mr. Kumah, who is the International Manager of Media Savvy Training Solution in the United Kingdom, said though he was a staunch member of the NPP, the development of the people was his main priority and not partisanship, and appealed to the constituents to vote for him in the upcoming general election to enable him bring both local and foreign investors to the area.
He said the time had come for the area to have access to its share of the national cake, but it would take a dedicated person to be the legislator to press home the needs of the constituents, adding that he had decided to contest the seat because the incumbent MP for the area, Twumasi Appiah had failed the people.
Mr. Kumah advised the youth to be wary of selfish politicians who might lure them with monies and other gifts during the electioneering campaign, apparently to be used to generate trouble.
He advised the youth to rather channel their exuberance into useful economic ventures and to avoid lifestyles that could ruin their future. The business entrepreneur bemoaned the poor road networks and dilapidated school structures in the area, noting that some of the school children still study under trees.
'Since quality education plays a paramount role in the life of the individual and as a catalyst for nation building, there is the need to ensure that basic educational needs of school children are provided, whilst desirable incentive packages should also be given to teachers especially those serving in the district to entice them to work hard', he stated. Mr. Joseph Kumah, Aspirant for the newly created Sene East
