Accra Jan. 27, GNA- For having sex with his 18-year old daughter for the past one and half years amidst three abortions, Kwesi Mortsi has been remanded into prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court.
Charged with incest Mortsi, 40, has pleaded not guilty before the Court presided over by Mrs Georgina Mensah-Datsa.
He is expected to reappear on February 7.
The case as presented by Police Chief Inspector I.A.A Ahor, the victim is a school dropout and she lives with her father at Dansoman Keep Fit Down, Accra.
Chief Inspector Ahor said the accused, who is a carpenter had three abortions with her daughter in 2011.
On January 16, this year, while sleeping in the night in the same room with his father, the accused attempted to have sex with her and she refused.
Chief Inspector said the following day, while the victim was preparing to go to work the accused insisted that her daughter should have sex with her before she leaves.
While running away to work, the accused seized her bag in order to prevent her from doing so.
This infuriated the victim who reported the matter to the Police leading to the arrest of her father.
