MP commissions 3-unit classroom block at Adanwomase

THE MEMBER of Parliament for Kwabre Constituency in the Kwabre East District of Ashanti, Hon. Kofi Frimpong has commissioned a three-unit classrooms office and store project, estimated at GH¢62000.00 for Kwakye Tannor Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Primary and Junior High Schools at Adanwomase.

 
He said the project, funded through his share of the MPs Common Fund was inspired by the need to enhance teaching and learning in the community. Hon. Kofi Frimpong also donated brass band instrument to the school.

 
The MP said it was incumbent on all opinion leaders and stakeholders to create an enabling environment in the educational sector and mould the lives of the youth as future leaders of the country.

 
MP Kofi Frimpong attributed the mass failure of pupils at exams to lack of supervision by the Headmaster, and appealed to the government and the owners of the institutions to ensure   regular supervision and monitoring in the schools.

 
He further urged the government to extend the School Feeding programme and school uniforms to the schools in the constituency, as a motivation for the children.

 
The Headmistress of the School, Mrs. Stella Sarfo Boateng commended the MP for putting up the facility for the school, which she said was a big relief to the pupils and the teaching staff.

She said it had come to save them from the challenges of rain and the scorching sun, as well as natural disasters.

 
The headmistress appealed to stake holders and corporate bodies to come to the aid of the school, which is in dire need of furniture from Kindergarten to primary five, electricity and computers for ICT classes.

 
Mr. Kusi-Appiah, the District Supervisor, who represented Mr. Clement Amoah, the District Director of Education, commended the MP for the gesture and also thanked Nananom for making land available for the facility

 
According to him, the District placed 28 th nationwide in the last BECE Exams, and charged the teachers to work extra hard to improve on the performance.

He also urged the students to take their studies very serious and become responsible citizens in future and not get attracted to Kente weaving, which is dominant in the area.
