Accra , April 25, GNA - The executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Dadekotopon constituency has organized a programme, "Meet your Aspirants," with party delegates and members to strategize for the 2012 general election.

The contestants for the April 30 parliamentary aspirants' constituency election are Mr Osar Nii Odoi Glover, a businessman, Mr Godfred Ako-Nai, former MP and the Reverend Vincent Addotey Addo, an educationist.

Addressing the delegates, Mr Glover said if elected as the 2012 parliamentary candidate, he would resolve the disunity among the executives, delegates and the entire party members in the constituency.

He said his observation of the electoral results of the constituency from 2000 to 2008 pointed to disheartening performance due to disunity among members.

Mr Glover said he identified the problems of the party in the constituency as relating to "practice of politics of exclusion" and that he would address the problem to ensure unity among the rank and file of the members.

Mr Glover said as a businessman, he would create jobs in each electoral area for the people to manage themselves and use the profit to be invested in other ventures to help reduce unemployment in the area.

Mr Ako-Nai said when he lost the seat as MP, the 11 million- dollar modern market complex project he initiated with the help of the World Bank in 2002 to replace the 1929 dilapidated old market has remained on the drawing board and promised to revive it if given the mandate.

Mr Ako-Nai, one time La Sub-Metro chairman, said his loss of the seat had been a learning season for him and promised not to repeat such mistakes again and appealed for forgiveness.

Rev Addotey Addo said his main concerns were improvement of health facilities, education, women empowerment, promoting private sector development and to invest in the people to enable them to develop themselves in terms of job creation.

He said as a new contestant, he would be a unifier and urged the electorate to give him the chance for more development in the constituency.

Miss Christie Lovelace Nkansah, the Women Organizer, thanked the contestants and the delegates for their high level of cooperation, understanding and maturity they exhibited during the function and asked them to show the same during and after campaign and election, adding that "this is family affair no one should use insulting words on his or her opponents."
