An Accra-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), A Bit of Africa Charity Organisation, has presented educational materials to the Obogu L/A Primary School in the Asante Akim South district of the Ashanti Region.

The items, which included three brand new computers and their accessories, and a number of text and reading books, were valued at GH¢5,000. The organisation was assisted by a US-based entity, Change A Lifetime Companies Incorporation, which is owned by a Ghanaian citizen, Mrs. Veronica Kyerewaa, to perform the donation.

Briefing the media after the presentation, Mrs. Rudder-Wilson, a health care worker based in the US, disclosed that the items were donated to her organisation by a library in Stratford-Connecticut in the US, where she is domiciled.

She noted that as a native, she was deeply touched by the need to contribute her quota towards the educational advancement of the town, hence the decision to donate the educational materials to the school.

Mrs. Rudder-Wilson said it was necessary that children in primary education are offered the opportunity to acquaint themselves with ICT education, in order to educate themselves on modern trends of teaching and learning.

She pledged her organisation's continued support to the school, and revealed plans to set up an arts center in the community.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Change A Lifetime Companies Incorporation was accompanied by Mr. Ohemeng Sarpong Frimpong, Country Director of A Bit of Africa Charity Organisation, and Madam Cynthia Dwomoh, also an executive member of the organisation.
