Mr Isaac Osei, one of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, has reiterated his call for delegates of the party to vote for him to lead the party in Election 2012.
He said this would enable him to unite the rank and file of the party and with a concerted effort, wrestle power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“Unity is the only panacea to propel NPP to victory,” he said when he addressed delegates of the Subin Constituency, where he is the Member of Parliament (MP).
He said as part of his tour of the 39 constituencies in the Ashanti Region, he was also soliciting for votes to become the flagbearer of the party .
He urged the delegates to vote for him to enable him to exhibit his economic management prowess for the accelerated growth of the country.
He noted that the problem facing the country was ineffective economic management, saying his experience in that field of endeavour, coupled with his international reputation, experience and track record would justify that when given the nod, he could transform the fortunes of Ghanaians.
Mr Osei promised that given the opportunity to serve the NPP and the country, he would embark on massive rural development drive, establish Women Empowerment Fund, Youth Employment and Skills Training and further more, intensify agriculture to feed the people and enhance export.
Mr Osei advised some party supporters who were raining insults on other flagbearers to desist from that since it could be used as a political weapon by the opposition parties during campaign.
Mr Osei paid glowing tribute to former President Kufuor for his unmeasureable contribution to the country’s development growth and expressed alarm at how some people lambasted him for no apparent reasons.
