Agyei joins CHAN squad for Burkina Faso

By ghanasoccernet.com

Liberty Professionals goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has been handed a late call-up to join the local Black Stars squad for this weekend's CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou.

Agyei was excluded from head coach Herbert Addo's initial 25-man squad preparing for the first leg zone B West assignment.

The 19-year-old was the second choice goalkeeper at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and was on the bench at the last CHAN tournament in Ivory Coast.

Agyei was in post during Ghana's 2-1 defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in an international friendly early this month in Sarajevo.

He will join in-form Heart of Lions goalie Stephen Ahorlu in the 21-man squad picked for the assignment.

King Faisal defender Daniel Addo was left out of the final squad after sustaining an injury in camp.

Abdul Aziz Yusif, James Boadu and Goalkeepers Stephen Adams of Aduana Stars and RTU's John Adjetey failed to make the cut.

The local Black Stars finalized their preparations with a 3-0 win over Division One side Guan United on Wednesday thanks to goals from Nathaniel Asamoah, Mahatma Otoo and Abdul Aziz Yusif.

The team will leave for their camping base in Tamale on Thursday morning for Burkina Faso.
