
Ministers of the Gospel, have been urged to upgrade themselves through education to keep pace with the changing times.
Reverend Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh, Acting President of the Ghana Baptist University College, also asked the clergy to seek more knowledge and acquire the needed communication skills to win souls for Christ.
He was speaking at the induction service held for Rev George Owusu-Mensah, Senior Pastor of the Saint James Baptist Church at Bantama in Kumasi on the theme: "The challenges of the 21st Century."
Rev. Osei-Wusuh said in the present knowledge and technology driven world, "Men of God" could simply not afford to be limited only to the Bible.
He said it was important to broaden their knowledge base so as to have a better understanding of the people they preach the Word to.
He encouraged them to have the courage to speak against wrongs in society, promote social justice, fast and pray ceaselessly for God's guidance to serve as good example to people they lead and society in general.
Rev. Dr Stephen Kwabena Asante, President of the Ghana Baptist Convention prayed for God's blessing for Rev Owusu-Mensah and family to enable him to serve in the ministry in faithfulness.
Rev. Owusu-Mensah was an Associate Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, until his transfer.
