Badminton team leaves for Uganda

Accra, Feb. 11, GNA - The national Badminton team is expected to leave for Uganda on Monday, February 15 to participate in the Thomas and Uber World Championships.
A 12-member team will represent the nation at the championship scheduled for Wednesday, February 17 to Sunday, February 21 in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
Ignatius Elletey, Secretary General of the Badminton Association of Ghana told GNA Sports that the team was selected after a one-week intensive training exercise held at the D. G. Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Ohene Djan Stadium from February 3 to February 9, 2010.
The Men's team is consisted by Solomon Nyarko, Daniel Nii Aryeetey Aryee, Noah Ben Ayim, Michael Sam and Eric Attah Ninkyi.
Daniel Sam and Emmanuel Yaw Donkor will also vie for honours in the Boys U-18 category.
The Women's team is made up of Theresa Tetteh, Evelyn Botwe, and Martha Forson with Linda Hammond Osei and Stella Amassah for the Girls U-18 category.
The championship, which would also serve as the African qualifier for the global championships is slated from Paris, France from August 23 to August 29, 2010.
The team is expected back on Monday, March 1, 2010.
