Ghanweb Recommends New National Coach

Ghanaweb recommends Bengt-Arne Strömberg as the new coach of the Ghana national team. He is the only FIFA licensed coach in Sweden. He took Issa Mohammed (Hasaacas) to Sweden. He is currently considering offers from USA, and a top club in Arab Emirates. Secondly, the season in Sweden is almost over (5 matches remain) and thus is expected to get more offers from Swedish clubs. This coach is what Ghana needs, not a half famous ex-coach from France/Yugoslavia who is only interested in money. He has a very warm personality and listens to the players and gives them self-confidant. CV Name: Bengt-Arne Strömberg Age: 48 Nationality: Swedish Previous clubs (as head coach or assistant coach) : Mölnlycke, Fräntorp, Godhem, Jonsered, GAIS, Elfsborg IFK Norrköping. History and Honours: • 1982 he accomplished step 3 (of 4) of the Swedish coach education held by the Swedish football Association. • 1995 he coached GAIS and almost managed to bring back the team to the Swedish premier league. The team lost against IFK Norrköping in the qualifier to the premier league (called allsvenskan). • 1997 he accomplished step 4 (highest level) of the Swedish coach education. Only 12 coaches a year are selected to the education and B-A Strömberg got the highest grades. He had the best results of all coaches entering that year and left the course as number one. • He has worked for Gothenburg’s football association as an instructor. • Elected leader of the year in (season 2000) IF Elfsborg after bringing the club to an unexpected 5:th place in the Swedish premier league (allsvenskan). • 2000 he was assistant coach for the Swedish U21-team together with head coach LO Mattson. • 2001 he won the Swedish cup with IF Elfsborg. • 2001 he was assistant coach once again for the Swedish U21-team. • Fall 2001 he joined IFK Norrköping one of Swedens top clubs of all time and reached the UEFA Pro Level as coach. Comments: Bengt-Arne Strömberg is most famous for bringing the Swedish premier league club IF Elfsborg to a surprising fifth place in the Swedish premier league and the following year he managed to win the Swedish cup with Elfsborg despite a lot of injuries. Two of Sweden’s top players Anders Svensson and Fredrik Berglund got their breakthrough under B-A Strömbergs coaching. Anders Svensson says today he has B-A Strömberg to thank for his astonishing development. B-A Strömberg has reach the UEFA Pro level as a trainer because he has coached club teams internationally more than 15 times. (UEFA license)
