February 01, 2010
Winkogo (U/E), Feb. 1, GNA - The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Mark Woyongo, has said the government would provide more infrastructures for Senior High Schools
Launching the 40th anniversary celebration of the Bolgatanga Senior High School, he said the school would be among schools that would benefit from the package.
Mr Woyongo said the government was also continuing with the implementation of the teachers' incentive package.
He said the government, through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), would put up a number of Staff quarters in schools to increase staff accommodation.
The Headmaster of the Bolgatanga SHS, Mr. Didacus Afegra, said the School has been performing well in external examinations.
Mr. Afegre said the school had many problems and these include lack of infrastructure such as staff bungalows, lack of toilet faculties, a boys' dormitory and a library.
He appealed to the government, non-governmental organizations and past students to contribute to help the school grow.
Mr Afegre commended the Parent/Teacher Association, past students and the staff for their hard work despite the challenges.
