The Breman Traditional Council and the AfaHye Planning Committee have officially launched the 2026 Breman Odwira Festival with a call on the youth and people of Breman to unite and actively contribute to the development of the area.

The launch ceremony took place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Omanhene's Palace in Breman Asikuma under the theme, "Building a Legacy Through Youth and Heritage."

The event brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, opinion leaders, professionals, youth groups and residents from various communities across the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District.

Addressing the gathering, the Omanhene of the Breman Traditional Area and President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII, emphasized the importance of unity, cultural preservation and youth empowerment in advancing the development of Bremanman.

According to him, the future of Breman depends largely on the willingness of its people, particularly the youth, to embrace their cultural heritage while playing active roles in initiatives aimed at improving their communities.

He urged all natives of Breman, both home and abroad, to put aside their differences and work together towards a common goal of development and progress.

"The future of Breman lies in the hands of its people, especially the youth. We must embrace our heritage, remain united and contribute our quota towards the development of our communities and the preservation of our rich culture," Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII stated.

The Omanhene further noted that the Odwira Festival goes beyond cultural celebrations and festivities, describing it as an important platform for mobilising the people towards a shared development agenda for the traditional area and the district.

He called on individuals, corporate bodies and development partners to support initiatives that will leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Chairperson for the launch and Member of Parliament for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah, commended the Breman Traditional Council for selecting a theme that places significant emphasis on the youth.

He observed that the younger generation remains a vital force in every successful society and encouraged them to take advantage of available opportunities to contribute positively to community and national development.

"The youth are the future leaders of our communities and our nation. They must be empowered, encouraged and given the necessary support to contribute meaningfully to development," he said.

Hon. Ghansah also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting programmes and initiatives that promote youth empowerment, education and socio-economic development within the district.

The colourful ceremony featured cultural performances, traditional displays and goodwill messages from dignitaries who attended the event.

The annual Breman Odwira Festival remains one of the major cultural events in the Central Region, providing an opportunity for the people of Breman to celebrate their history, traditions and achievements while promoting unity and development.

The official launch sets the stage for a series of activities leading to the celebration of the 2026 Breman Odwira Festival later this year, with organisers expressing optimism that the event will further strengthen community bonds and inspire greater participation in development efforts across Bremanman.
