Kumasi, Jan. 11, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills has directed that all Television sets in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) should be switched off during working hours.
Those in hospital wards, waiting rooms and receptions are, however, not affected.
The directive is contained in a circular signed by the Chief of Staff, Mr J.H.M Newman, to Ministers of State, Regional Ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives.
Copies have been sent to Heads of Government Departments and Agencies.
It warned of severe sanctions against those who contravene the directive and asked Ministers and Departmental heads to ensure that this is strictly enforced.
