Cheslea Carlo Ancelotti has played down fitness concerns over Michael Essien, insistsing the midfielder will be fit for Sunday's clash with Arsenal.
Essien scored twice in the 4-0 win over Wolves but is struggling with a knee problem.
The Chelsea star was included in the squad for Wednesday's Champions League clash against FC Porto but was on the bench as Ancelotti shufffled his pack.
Ancelotti though insists they will be fine for Sunday's game with third-placed Arsenal.
"Essien has a little problem on his knee," the Italian tactician said.
"I prefer to keep him on the bench but it will not be a problem for Sunday against Arsenal."
The news ios a huge relief for the Black Stars as any serious injury to Essien could harm his chances of playing for Ghana at the 2010 nations Cup which is just 45 days away.
Chelsea hold an eight-point advantage over the Gunners, having played a game more, but the home side are slender favourites.
