Parliamentary delegation leaves for Beijing

A fifteen member Parliamentary delegation has left Accra for Beijing to understudy Chinese waste management and disposal practices.  The Chairman of the committee of Local Government and Rural development, Environment and Science, Dominic Azumah who is leading the delegation told our Airport Correspondent before departure that the delegation is visiting China at the invitation of the Ministry of Local Government and Zoomlion China to look at the way and manner China manages waste with its huge population. 

The committee will focus on the re-cycling of waste, biodegradation of waste, compost manufacture and more uses to which waste is put to. They will also be looking at equipment used in waste management and how best this can be replicated in Ghana.

The delegation will be away for ten days.
