Sunyani Teachers in School Feeding Programme

By GBC NEWS
Sunyani Teachers in School Feeding Programme

Information reaching Radio Ghana indicates that the school feeding programme which is purposely meant for school pupils is now being enjoyed by teachers in some schools in the Sunyani Municipality.

Visit to some schools by Radio Ghana show that teachers seem to enjoy themselves with the food rather than the school children.  Kotokrom M/A Primary School and Presby Primary 'A' all in the Sunyani Municipality are some of the schools visited.

At Kotokrom M/A Primary School it was discovered that the quantum of food which the Matrons provide for the school children are not good enough.

During the time of visit, the pupils were served with a hand full of plain rice and cabbage stew without fish, meat or egg.

At the same time, the teachers at the school were served with a sizable amount of the same food with eggs.

Some of the School children complained bitterly about the quantum of food served them.

In an interview with the Head teacher of Kotokrom M/A Primary School, George Ferka, he said because the matrons are not under his jurisdiction, they ignore his appeals to remedy the situation.

Meanwhile the General Manager of Metro Mass Transport, Martin Afram has expressed satisfaction with government for setting aside today as Public Transport Day as it coincides with Metro Mass Transport day.

He said the day will help the Metro Mass Transport to come out with solutions to some of the problems associated with public transport.

Speaking to Radio Ghana Mr. Afram said Metro Mass Transport is coming out with a system that would ease congestion commuter's face on its buses.
