The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of the Accra East and Western Regions on Thursday, June 11, 2026, to facilitate maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply.
In the Accra East Region, power supply will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in West Trassaco, Trassaco Phase 2, Salem Estates, sections of School Junction, Ayikuma, Doryumu and surrounding communities. The maintenance notice was first issued on June 6, 2026.
Residents and businesses in the Western Region will also experience a planned outage from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Communities expected to be affected include Akoon, UEE, parts of Market Circle, Railway Quarters, Apinto Hospital, Cyanide, Kwabedu, Alhaji Dauda, New Atuabo, Budo City, Banso, Esuosu and nearby areas. ECG announced the exercise on June 9, 2026.
The power distributor said the maintenance works form part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the national electricity network and enhance service delivery to customers.
ECG apologised for the inconvenience the outages may cause and advised affected customers to make the necessary arrangements for activities that depend on electricity during the scheduled period.
The company assured residents and businesses that electricity supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the maintenance works.
Customers have also been encouraged to follow ECG's official communication platforms for updates and additional information regarding the exercise.
The planned outages are part of ECG's broader strategy to improve network reliability and ensure a more stable power supply across the country.
