Nyinahin (Ash), Oct 19, GNA - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has presented, through the Department of Social Welfare, 27 wheel chairs valued at GH¢14,000 in support of the physically-challenged in the Atwima-Mponua District.
Mr Abubakar Mohammed, the District Social Welfare Officer, handed them over to the District Chief Executive, Mrs Theresa Adomako-Tawiah, at Nyinahin.
She appealed to disabled persons in the area who have not yet registered with the district branch of the Ghana Federation of the Physically Challenged to do so.
This, he said, was in their own interest as it would enable them to benefit from employable skills training among other things.
Mrs Adomako-Tawiah said the district was grateful to the Church for the assistance and called on other philanthropists to emulate.
