Accra, Aug. 18, GNA – The Ghana Karate Do Association on Tuesday, launched a two-year development strategy for the advancement and preservation of martial arts in the country.
Mr Michael Nunoo, Chairman of the Association told the GNA Sports the strategy includes projection of internationally acclaimed and local martial artists who have achieved the absolute highest possible levels of skill and knowledge within their art throughout the country as a way to inject dynamism into the sports.
He said the board has also established the following structures; Promotions and Media Relations Sub-committee with Mr Erasmus Akrong, Mr Francis Ameyibor, and Mr Dennis Moore as members.
The Marketing Sub-committee members are: Mike Bonsu, Louis Armstrong Mortagbe, Mr Ken Nartey, Mr Makafui, Mr Dan Addo Tagoe; whiles Mr Sadisu Iddrisu (Chairman), Mr Frank Danso, Mr Kwabena Poku, Mr Commodore Slater, Mr Ibrahim Jarrah, Mr Isaac Amponsah are in charge of the Technical Sub-committee.
The membership of the Organizing Sub-committee are Mr Ade Sawyerr (Chairman), Mr Victor Lartey, Mr Muniru Salifu, Mr Adama Anani, Mr Samuel Obeng, whiles Mr Sadisu Iddrisu (Chairman), Mr Frank Danso, Mr Commodore Slater are tasked with the Disciplinary Sub-committee.
The Board also appointed Mr Kwabena Poku as the Head Coach with Dr Martin Engmann, Dr Michael Akrong in charge of the Medical team.
