Kumasi, July 15, GNA - The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has honoured Mr Isaac Dankyi-Koranteng, alumni of the university who won last year's Apprenticed Africa Reality Television Show organized by PHB Bank in Nigeria.
Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, Vice Chancellor of KNUST who presented a plaque and a Kente Stole to Mr Dankyi-Kwarteng, commended him for winning the award and for making the university and the entire nation proud.
He said the award had not only made KNUST students proud but had served as a moral boaster to the students.
He urged the students to make good use of the moral and academic training they acquired to enhance the development of the nation.
Mr Dankyi-Koranteng thanked the university authorities for the honour done him and said since education gave the platform for people to add value to themselves; students should take advantage and prepare themselves for the job market.
He said the marketplace was in dire need of problem-solvers and student's ability to succeed in the competitive market was linked to the strength of their problem solving skills.
Mr Dankyi-Koranteng said; “Achieving the extraordinary required doing more than the ordinary in addition to discipline and courage which cannot be achieved on a silver platter”.
He urged students to make meaningful contribution towards the development of the nation, saying; “Seek results for whatever time spent, energy exerted and thinking that goes into your jobs”.
Mr Dankyi-Koranteng advised the students to take their education seriously and read wide beyond their courses of study to broaden their knowledge.
