Breman Asikuma (C/R), June 24, GNA—The Ministry of Youth and Sports has directed the National Youth Council to conduct head count of the Teaching Assistants and Health Extension workers engaged under the programme.
In this regard three Polytechnic Students have been selected to do the head count in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district.
The District Chief Executive, Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah made this known at the first Ordinary Meeting of the third Session of the Fifth Assembly of the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district Assembly at Breman Asikuma.
On the National Health Insurance Scheme, the DCE said the management board was dissolved in February this year and that a four-member caretaker committee has been appointed to oversee its operations.
She said the Scheme Board would soon be reconstituted at an annual general meeting.
On security, madam Aboah said the district recorded a number of incidents of armed robbery in April and May this year at Abura, Nkeanta, Benin and Bedum.
She appealed to Assembly Members in the district to liaise with the Police to form community watchdog committees in their communities to fight crime.
