Naval Staff Chief Outlines Vision To Personnel

The chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Rear Admiral M. Quanshie said his mission for the Ghana Navy is to develop a well-trained, disciplined and motivated Navel personnel capable of discharge their duties efficiently of the Ghana Navy and the country as a whole. He noted that the Ghana Navy was faced with many challenges including the lack of took and equipment to perform its duties and hope that “with the co-operation of members of staff, most of these challenges will be overcome.”

Rear Admiral Quarshie said this on Thursday when addressing Naval personnel at a durbar at the Sekondi Naval Base as part of his visit since his appointment as the CNS.

He assured the officers and men that the Chief Defence staff (CDS) and the Ministry of Defence were taking the necessary steps to address the problems facing the navy.

Rear Admiral Quarshie said accommodation for the Naval staff was on the CDS' priority and urged them to remain focused.

Rear Admiral Quarshie said after taking stock of the past, “we shall change management style to enable the Navy to move ahead positively.”

He noted that the oil-find in the Western Region had opened a golden opportunity for the Navy and urged it to take advantage of the situation.

Rear Admiral Quarshie was welcomed to the Sekondi Naval Command by the Flag Officer Commanding, Commodore Tim S. Appiah.
